How text to hex conversion works
The text is encoded as UTF-8 bytes and each byte is written as two hex digits: H is 72, so 48; i is 105, so 69. Characters outside ASCII take more bytes: é is C3 A9. To decode, paste the hex into the hex to text converter.
Common questions
What encoding is used?
UTF-8, the encoding used by the web, JSON and most files. ASCII characters give one byte each.
Is a string hex converter the same as text to hex?
Yes. Both turn a string into the hexadecimal values of its bytes.
How do I convert hex back to text?
Use hex to text, which also accepts 0x and \x prefixes.
