Random debate topic generator
Debate topics are written as motions, statements one side defends and the other attacks, such as Homework should be banned in primary schools. Each result also assigns you a random side so you practise arguing positions you may not agree with. Categories cover education, technology, society, and light-hearted motions like Hot dogs are sandwiches for warm-ups.
Essay and writing topics
The essay prompts are split by essay type. Argumentative prompts are questions with two defensible answers; personal prompts suit college application essays and journaling; research prompts point at a subject with real sources to find; compare and contrast prompts give you two sides to weigh. Before writing, narrow the prompt to one specific claim: “how music affects mood” becomes “does upbeat music improve focus during study?”.
Speech topics and table topics
Use Informative and Persuasive topics to plan a prepared speech, and Impromptu topics for Toastmasters-style table topics: generate one, take a breath, and speak for one to two minutes without preparing.
Conversation starters and icebreakers
Conversation topics are open questions that invite a story rather than a yes or no. Icebreakers are shorter and safe for groups who have just met. Both work in a video call: generate one at the start of each meeting and go round the room.
