Common questions
How many teams are in MLB?
Major League Baseball has 30 teams: 15 in the American League and 15 in the National League, with three five-team divisions in each league.
How do I pick a random American League or National League team?
Click the American League or National League chip, or open the page with ?mode=al or ?mode=nl. Narrow further with the Division dropdown.
Why is Oakland not listed?
The Athletics left Oakland after the 2024 season. They play in West Sacramento for 2025 to 2027 while their Las Vegas stadium is built, and go by “Athletics” with no city name, which is how the generator lists them.
Can I draw every MLB team once in random order?
Yes. Set How many to 30 with No repeats on and press Generate. Export CSV gives you the order as a spreadsheet.
Is the pick random?
Each draw uses the browser’s cryptographic random generator, so every club in the filtered pool has an equal chance. Nothing is uploaded.
