Will resizing reduce image quality?

Downscaling (making an image smaller) generally preserves quality well. Upscaling (making an image larger) will reduce sharpness because you're creating pixels that didn't exist — this is called interpolation. This tool uses the browser's bilinear interpolation, which produces smooth results for moderate upscaling.

What does "lock aspect ratio" mean?

Aspect ratio is the ratio of width to height (e.g., 16:9, 4:3). Locking it means when you change the width, the height adjusts automatically to keep the original proportions, preventing distortion. Unlock it to set independent width and height.

What format should I save as after resizing?
