What this random Pokémon generator does
The generator draws from all 1,025 Pokémon species in the National Pokédex, from Bulbasaur (#0001) to Pecharunt (#1025). Each result lists the Pokédex number, the Pokémon’s type or types, the generation and region it debuted in, whether it is legendary or mythical, and whether it is fully evolved. The data uses each species’ default form, so regional variants such as Alolan Vulpix and Mega Evolutions are not listed separately.
- Random Pokémon: one to fifty Pokémon at a time, filtered by type, generation, status and evolution.
- Pokémon team: a ready-made team of six (or fewer) with each member’s weaknesses listed.
- Pokémon type: a random type or dual-type combination with its full matchup chart.

Random Pokémon team generator
Switch to Pokémon team to build a team of six in one click. By default it only uses fully evolved, non-legendary Pokémon and makes sure no two team members share a type, which gives a balanced team for a randomizer run, a Nuzlocke-style challenge, a draft league or a casual battle with friends. Change Team types to Monotype for a single-type challenge team, or allow legendaries for an anything-goes team. Each team member shows the types it is weak to so you can spot shared weaknesses at a glance.
Random Pokémon type generator
The Pokémon type mode picks one of the 18 types, or a dual-type combination, and shows what it is super effective against, what it is weak to, what it resists and what it is immune to, using the current (Gen 6 onward) type chart with Fairy. It also counts how many Pokémon actually have that typing, so you can see when a combination such as Normal / Ice has never been used. Players use it for monotype runs, type-themed teams and drawing challenges.

Frequently asked questions
How many Pokémon are in the random Pokémon generator?
All 1,025 species in the National Pokédex, from Bulbasaur (#0001) to Pecharunt (#1025), covering Generations 1 through 9. Each species appears once in its default form.
Can I generate a random Pokémon team?
Yes. Choose the Pokémon team mode to get six different Pokémon. By default the team is fully evolved, non-legendary and has no shared types; you can allow repeated types, make a monotype team, or change the team size.
How does the random Pokémon type generator work?
It picks one of the 18 types, or two for a dual-type combination, and lists the types it is strong against, weak to, resists and is immune to using the current type chart. It also shows how many Pokémon have that typing.
Can I get a random Pokémon from one generation or type?
Yes. Use the Generation filter to limit results to a region such as Kanto or Paldea, and the Type filter to limit them to a type such as Fire or Ghost. Filters can be combined.
Will the same Pokémon come up twice?
Not while No repeats is on. The generator works through every matching Pokémon before any of them can appear again, then tells you it has reset the list.
Are legendary and mythical Pokémon included?
Yes, 71 legendary and 23 mythical Pokémon are included. Set Legendary status to Regular to leave them out, or choose Legendary or Mythical to roll only those.
