About Open Port Checker

Enter a host and port and the page sends an HTTPS request to it from your own connection. If a server answers, that port is open and speaking HTTPS; if nothing answers, the result is marked inconclusive, because a web page cannot open raw TCP connections and cannot tell a closed port from a firewall or a non-HTTPS service like SSH. Browsers also block some ports such as 22 and 25. For a definitive answer the result includes ready-made commands: nc -vz host port on macOS or Linux, and Test-NetConnection host -Port port in Windows PowerShell.
